The 20th Grand Reunion of MPHS IV-Mayon 1994

I grew up in the 1st Class Municipality of Baliuag, Bulacan and I’m a proud Poncenian (graduate of Mariano Ponce High School, Baliuag). It was in 1990 when I enrolled in this public high school in Baliuag, Bulacan and was included in the so-called Science Section: I-Sampaguita.

In sophomore, I belong to II-Narra and in Junior, our section was combined to the class that belongs to II-Guijo and formed III-Atis. In 4th year high school (senior year), I belong to IV-Mayon. I enjoyed my high school life and I was blessed to belong to the Science Class of Mariano Ponce High School (MPHS). My classmates were the Valedictorian, Salutatorian or Honorable Mentions of the different elementary schools in Baliuag, Bulacan. I was the Salutatorian of San Jose Elementary School.

In 1994, we graduated high school but maintained constant communications with our high school classmates and friends. This is the time that there were only 2 email providers dominant in the Philippines: Yahoo and Hotmail. Friendster does not even exist by the time we graduate high school and most computer programs uses WordStar, Lotus 123 and MS DOS. The principal of MPHS by the time we graduated by Lucia Almoro.

Past forward to 2014 – it’s our 20th Grand Reunion! It’s been 20 years since we graduated high school and we’ve been having our Annual Christmas Party for several years now. I only started attending this event in 2008 and I’ve been attending it annually. Last year, I was elected as President of Mayon Foundation – and I was tasked to handle this year’s celebration, which coincides with the 20th Grand Reunion of IV-Mayon.

So far, we’ve been voting the date of this year’s celebration and the theme for our annual party. Most probably, it would still be December 30 like the previous years and the likely venue would still be Valenzuela Pavilion. Since I’m studying photography, I decided to create some of the possible invitations for this year’s celebration. Let me share it with you.

Hopefully, this year’s celebration would attract our long lost classmates. We’re dubbing this year’s celebration as the 20th Grand Reunion to attract non-Christian members of our high school section. Hopefully, we’ll be able to see some of our classmates that we haven’t seen – Grace Hipolito, Jane Asiado, Marissa Ventoso, Mary Anne Calderon, Emilie Geronimo, Graciano Sulit Jr., Leander Bejarin, Eliseo Mercado, among others. Hopefully this blog post will reach their attention and be invited to this momentous event.

Here are the other possible invitations to our 20th Grand Reunion. If you know someone who graduated from Mariano Ponce High School (MPHS), Baliuag, Bulacan in March 1994, please refer them to this post. Thank you!
